Xalos Magic

Xalos magic has the three following types:

  • Concentration Abilities - Abilities that can only be used once at a time, unless otherwise stated.

  • Energy Abilities - Xalos abilities that use Energy, but not permanently.

  • Taxing Abilities - Abilities that use Energy, often a smaller amount, but it is permanently removed until the Xalos rests, and the energy is returned.

Total amount of abilities = Xalos Abilities Bonus + Base Aptitude Score
Total Xalos Energy = Xalos Power Bonus + Base Aptitude Score

Dynamic Casting

Xalos may use Aptitude Points from their Aptitude Pool to alter the properties of their own magical abilities. 

  • At level 1, when an applicable ability is used, only one of the following may be used, once. 

  • At level 7, when an applicable ability is used, use up to 2 of the following and they may only be used once. 

  • At level 14, when an applicable ability is used, use up to 2 of the following and they may be used any number of times. 

  • At level 19, when an applicable ability is used, use any number of the following and they may be used any number of times.

The Dynamic Casting abilities include:

Bolster: Spend 2 [AP] and gain an additional 2D6 Damage.
Focus: Spend 2 [AP] and gain an additional 1D6 win on an attack roll.
Hasten: Spend 3 [AP] and reduce the Action cost to a Minor Action, instead of a Major Action.
Propel: Spend 1 [AP]and increase the range of an ability by double. 
Shift: Spend 1 [AP] and change the damage type of the ability to: Shock, Temperature, Plasma, Concussive, or Piercing.
Soften: Spend 1 [AP] and cause the damage done with an ability to also be Nonlethal.
Split: Spend 1 [AP] per tier of the ability and duplicate the ability to either the same target or a secondary target, as a second attack. The damage of all duplicate attacks is reduced by 50%. 
Surge: Spend X [AP] to reduce the Energy cost of an Energy or Taxing ability by X.

Recharges on Rest. Deal D6 Nerve damage to the target if successful. If the target dies, the connection is lost and you are made unconcious for 1 minute and D4 Nerve damage is dealt to you if a Cognitive save is failed versus 15. If they do not die, their mind is permanetely scared.

Create a small screaming Wraith skull that rotates around your head. While around you, a skill of your choosing gains Strength, as does your Cognitive Save. Target an individual within range, and the Wraith will instantly track to them and circle around their head. If the target fails a cognitive save they take 1 nerve damage, and a specified skill gains Weakness. This ability can also target allies and give them the same bonus it would grant the wielder. This lasts for D4 turns. Can be recalled to you or sent to another target if specified. Limit number of Wraiths to total Concentration, and all effects can stack.
